Unit One-Early Americans

1) I think that the standard is saying that , literature in the past is being different then the comtempoprary literature. It's just like the comptemorary rap artist is doing something simliar than the past rap artist did, and it keep going on . Example when we listen to the rap artist T.I.,he talks ,we relate him to the rap artist Tupac ,because they both is mainly on the same subject. In literature we relate the comtemporary history to historical background, thats how it's similar to literature.

2)
Treat the earth an all that dwell theron with respect
Remain close to the Great Spirit
Show great respect for your fellow beings
Work together for the benefit of all humankind
Give assistance and kindness wherever needed
Do what you know to be right
Look after the well-being of mind and body
Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good
Be truthful and honest at all times
Take full responsibility for your actions

3)I think it is a that shows the Native American Ten Commandments Version 2. They tell you to keep the earth in good care, and dont mess it up. It also tell you to take responsibility for your own actions,in what you do.These Ten Commandments are all telling to do to positive thing throughout life. These Ten Commandments are similar to the Contemporary Ten Commandments today.

4) The differences is that they believed that god didnt die for everyone,he only believed that he died for sinners. To me,thats not true he died for everyone. It's true that everoyone was born a sinner, but he didnt only die for sinners. In the movie it says they relieved everyone else was going to hell that he didn't die for,but he died for everyone, and who's a sinner can change their ways and god will give them forgiveness for their sins. The Rationalist believed that science masde the world go around. They believed that god created the laws of the world, but the puritians believe man created the laws. The puritans beleived that humans are perfect, but the rationlist beleives that humans are imperfect. Whats stick out to me is that in the puritans video it says,"the puritains believed everyone was born a sinner"thats what stick out to me.

5) Benjamin Fankilin was a good example of rationlist because they believed in sceinece and he believed in science also.Aslo the rationalist believed that god didnt make everything ,so did benjamin. So this far,it seems that he's very common to an rationalist.

6) The Thirteen virtues upon my life is
Lovable-love everyone around you
Friednly-Be friendly not mean
Respectful-Respect other
Dependable-Be dependable in what you
Organization-Be organized ineverything you do
Positive-Stay postive than negative
Thankful-Be thankful for all of your blessings
Apprecitive-Appreicate things that people does for you
Forgivness-Forgive people that did hateful things to you ro someoneelse.
Neatness-Be clean and neat
Responsible-Be responsible for your actions
Timley-Be on time
Appropiate-Be approparite in life
Yes,i think you could reach your moral perfection this way, because these are almost like goals in your life. But these are more important i think. This is what Franklin did ,he went with his life by his thirteen virtues really. These will keep you on the right way of life ,by doing these positive virtues.

9)(Closing) The evidence i took away is that the rationalist use alot of symblosim and imagery, the evidence of imagery they used is that everything in the world is ran by science.
We related the modern time to todays time, which how their peoms were, and songs were, and it's all literature, just modern and todays literature.

  1. This is a very good start. The only thing you need to add is some direct evidence from the texts you've studied to support the claims you make. This way your work will address GPS ELAALRLR1.

You should also look back at my post and complete #9.

Once you have made these additions, send me another comment so I know it is time to view your work.

  2. You are much closer. Pay specific attention to #4. Your evidence should come from the poem you found and from "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God". You may need to listen to it once more to find a quote or two that sticks out to you.

Leave me another comment when you have made these small additions. You have done well, but you need just a little more.
